Nova & Chris
Nova first contacted me a little over two years ago. She and Chris live interstate – therefore, much of their planning took place over the internet and with the support of Alice (of Alice Mary Events). It was almost 18 months until we met for the first time, during a trip over to Adelaide.
Nova and Chris have a long and lovely history together. They started out as friends in high school, and after a few years out of school, having built an even stronger friendship, they realised that they should be together. Their autumn wedding celebration at Bird in Hand Winery was the culmination of many years together, both as friends and partners, and many adventures. Their family and friends were more than just a little bit excited – the whole day was abuzz with warmth and joy!
Nova’s family is originally Maori (from New Zealand) and as a result some beautiful cultural traditions were interwoven with the day. Nova’s uncle performed a Maori blessing at the ceremony (followed by an English translation, for those of us scratching our heads!) and then the rest of her family joined in with a traditional Maori song, before commencing the formal part of the ceremony.
It would be remiss of me not to point out how gorgeous the day was from a visual perspective – the outdoor wedding reception, on the lawn of Bird in Hand overlooking the vines, was absolutely stunning. But I’ll let the photos do the talking!
Thank you so much Nova and Chris…I’ve had a ball and hope you enjoy your photos as much as I enjoyed capturing them for you! x
