Mel & Michael | Currant Shed

I remember meeting Mel and Michael for the first time, and feeling like we’d known each other for ages! I was so thrilled when they decided to book me as their Adelaide wedding photographer, which at that time was possibly going to be in the city. However, they saw a previous wedding I’d photographed at the gorgeous Currant Shed down McLaren Vale way, and they changed their mind – a great decision, as it turned out, because The Currant Shed was the perfect setting for Mel and Michael’s cute, arty, relaxed afternoon wedding.

Mel got ready at Black Rabbit Cottage with her bridesmaids and groomsmaid (her brother), where they were later met by Michael and his boys, ready for the portraits before the ceremony. Mel and Michael enjoyed a “first look”, which was a beautiful moment just for the two of them. After the ceremony and a few family photos, they rolled straight into a late afternoon wedding reception – complete with a surprise from Mel – singing Angus & Julia Stone’s “The Wedding Song” to Michael.

It was such a fun day, from start to finish, and I so loved being a part of it and getting to know these two wonderful people. Thank you so much, Mel & Michael!
