Laura & Jez
Laura and Jez’s autumn wedding was beyond description. It was a completely wonderful experience and I was so happy to have had the opportunity to be there and share it with them.
I’d been really excited about their wedding since they first booked it last year. Though they booked the day from long-distance, the first time we met I felt as though I’d known them for ages – we just chatted and chatted! What struck me at the time was how completely excited they were about the day and their plans, some of which were still being finalised. As the day drew closer, a few details changed – including the choice of Our Lady of the Rosary Church in Stirling (which is in my top three favourite churches to photograph in – it’s just so quaint and picturesque!) and securing Reverend Ray Prettejohn, who is a fabulous religious celebrant (plug plug!) and a joy to work with.
It was a late afternoon ceremony – after 5pm – so by the time we ventured out of the church, it was almost dark. We had a few great opportunities for nighttime photographs between the church and Bird in Hand Winery, which had been completely transformed since my last wedding there in March (Emma & Hugh‘s cocktail reception). Laura and Jez’s was a sit-down dinner with some very pretty, creative, earthy and autumny details. And their cake…it took all of my willpower not to sneak off with it when nobody was looking! ๐
Not only was the wedding itself beautiful, with a lot of personal touches and creativity, but everybody was so warm and friendly and so proud to be there. And Laura and Jez were so completely in love that it almost gave me goosebumps. Even now, editing the photos and talking about them here, the memories just make me smile! I witnessed something amazing, that’s for sure.
Rather than run out of adjectives (as I always do) I think I’m best leaving you with some of my favourite photos from the day.
And a quick little message for Laura and Jez – you are both completely special people and were so much fun to be around! Thank you, thank you, thank you for being so wonderful and for having me!
fantastic photo’s!!!!
