Rowena & Chris

Rowena and Chris came from interstate in order to host their wedding in the Ballroom of Ayers House. I had already met Rowena, but not Chris (it was a game of spot-the-groom when I arrived for the ceremony!) They are both warm and lovely and so happy. They hadn’t seen each other for the entire week prior to the wedding – Rowena told me that she just couldn’t wait to see him again.

I spent the morning with Rowena and her three bridesmaids. We had breakfast in the restaurant of the Medina Grand Treasury and then headed back to their room for hair, makeup, M&M’s and Advertiser quizzes. It was really different for me to spend so much time with the girls but it gave me a fantastic opportunity to get to know them all before the wedding. It was Election Day and Jo (one of the bridesmaids) was telling me all about politics and all her insights into social and economic issues. The whole experience was a lot of fun, and we hadn’t even started the wedding yet!

After the ceremony, everybody (guests included) walked over to the Summer House at the Botanic Gardens for some drinks and chit-chat. I stole Rowena and Chris (and their bridal party) away for a little while for some photos before heading back for the reception.

I absolutely adored their cake – I think I actually squeaked when I saw it. I just loved the way Rowena (who, her bridesmaids informed me, has amazing style – I quite agree!) had tied her eclectic theme together – everything was so stunning and earthy and simple, that it seemed quite effortless.

I also loved that Rowena used the Amelie soundtrack (by composer Yann Tiersen) as her processional music – one of the most magical soundtracks ever!

So, enough of my narrative – here are some photos of their fantastic day:
